For two plasmid vectors to exist in one cell, they need to have compatible replication origins. In addition, they should have different antibiotic resistance markers to be selected within a cell. Our vectors belong to two compatibility groups A and B. The vectors are not compatible with each other within a compatibility groups. Vectors from different compatibility groups are compatible with one another. They may be used to co-express two or more proteins in one cell.
