Different organisms use different set of genetic codons. Some heavily used codons in mammal may be rarely used in E.coli. Codon starvation results in no expression or low yield of some mammalian proteins in E.coli. tRNA Plus strains are designed to solve these problems and increase protein yield. tRNA plus strains over-express one or more tRNA genes from E.coli. This will overcome codon starvation problems. We developed two sets of tRNA plus strains. Each set of tRNA plus strain contain one or more tRNA genes respectively. They are named PlustRNA-gene-name. tRNA-gene-name is commonly used name for tRNA genes. For example, R4 stands for tRNA gene Arg4. It is also called dnaY gene or argU tRNA gene. PlusR4 strain over expresses tRNA gene Arg4. Its tRNA contains anticodon UCU will recognize codons AGA and AGG. Other factors also affect protein yield. Please click here for more information on protein yield. tRNA plus strains overexpress tRNA genes:
All the strain names ending with "a" are used in the expression with E.coli RNA polymerase and strain names ending with "b" are used in the expression with T7 RNA polymerase. All of the cell strains with TM superscripts are trademarks of Expression Technologies Inc. They are all patent-pending. These cell strains are for non-commercial research use only. Please contact us for any other uses.WarrantyThese cell strains are guaranteed to express at least three times or more than the endogenous expression level of specified gene(s). Please email us at info@exptec.com for more information. |
